2025: A Journey of Art, Family, and Your Stories

As the calendar turns and we prepare to welcome a new year, I find myself sitting at my desk, looking at our latest designs and feeling a profound sense of gratitude. If you’ve followed my previous posts—whether we were discussing the timeless appeal of gallery walls or the delicate art of choosing the perfect wedding gift—you know that for me, design is about more than just aesthetics; it’s about the stories we tell within our homes.

This year has been an incredible chapter for Susan Newberry Designs. Looking back, I am struck by how much we’ve grown, not just as a business, but as a community.

A Mother-Daughter Milestone

One of the greatest joys of this year has been continuing this journey alongside my daughter, Alison. We often joke that I am the "dreamer" (the interior designer and graphic specialist) and she is the "doer" who keeps our operations running smoothly. Together, we reached a milestone that makes my heart swell: we have now shared our designs with customers in over 43 countries.

Whether it was a custom word cloud sent to a retirement party in London or a personalized blanket for a new grandmother in Australia, knowing that our work has a place in your most cherished moments is what drives us every single day.

Your Stories, Captured in Ink

This year, our Custom Word Clouds remained our most loved items. Each one is a puzzle I get to solve—fitting your favorite memories, names, and milestones into a beautiful, cohesive work of art. I’ve seen word clouds that celebrate 50 years of marriage, others that honor a lifetime of professional achievement, and many that simply list the "little things" that make a family whole.

We also expanded our Scripture and Inspirational collections, focusing on pieces that bring a sense of peace and purpose to your living spaces. As an interior designer, I always say that your walls should speak to who you are, and this year, you’ve spoken with such love and intentionality.

Looking Ahead: Make Memories Last

The end of the year always brings a bit of urgency, doesn’t it? We realize how quickly time slips through our fingers. If there is one thing I’ve learned from the thousands of orders we’ve fulfilled this year, it’s that the "perfect time" to celebrate someone you love is now.

As we move into January, many of our most popular custom items — especially our Word Clouds, birchwood, prints, and canvases —are seeing a surge in interest for upcoming anniversaries and milestone birthdays. Because each piece is hand-designed by me and Alison to ensure it's perfect, our production calendar fills up fast.

Don't let those special dates sneak up on you. If you have a milestone approaching in the first quarter of the new year, I encourage you to browse our latest collections today. Let’s start the new year by turning your memories into a masterpiece that will last a lifetime.

A Heartfelt Thank You

To our loyal customers: thank you for trusting us with your gifts. To our new friends: welcome to the family. Your support allows me to keep doing what I love, and for that, I am eternally grateful.

Wishing you a New Year filled with design, creativity, and most importantly, love.

Thanks for stopping by,

Until next time…

Susan Newberry

Hi, I’m Susan! I’ve spent the last 10 years building my online company. I’ve always loved everything to do with design. In fact, after raising my kids, I decided to go to school and get my degree in Interior Design. While running my own interior design company, I started teaching and found that teaching was what I really loved. Combine that with Interior Design and well, you could say I was on cloud nine. I always loved the technical side of design which led me to graphic design and after studying graphic design, I was encouraged to open an Etsy shop to sell some of my creations. With my attention to detail and being somewhat of a perfectionist, graphic design made perfect sense. In December of 2018, I decided to retire from teaching and devote myself full time to my business and I haven’t looked back since! I love designing art for the home and would love to create something special for you.

It’s true what they say, “Love what you do, and you will never work a day in your life.”
