Knitting vs. Crocheting

"Beautiful things come together one stitch at a time."

What's the difference?

Well, I am not an expert by any means but I have done both so I thought I'd share what I have learned and some of my favorite things.

Knitting:

Knitting utilizes two needles.  The two basic stitches for knitting are Knit and Purl. Needles come in all sizes and materials.  The larger the needle the larger the stitch and the quicker the knit.  I have to say that I have used both metal and bamboo and I highly recommend bamboo. Metal needles are inexpensive but yarn tends to slide off metal.  Also, I love circular needles, not just for circular knitting.  Did I say I love circular needles?

Crocheting:

The basic tool for crocheting is a crochet hook.  The basic stitch for crochet is the chain stitch.  Crochet hooks come in both metal and bamboo. I haven't done enough crocheting to have an opinion.  I used metal hooks and they worked fine.
